2 Bookaholics Steps into the Book Blogger Spotlight!!!

Today I chatted with Jammie & Lisa from 2 Bookaholics and I am so excited to have them here in the Book Blogger Spotlight!!! Get to know Jammie & Lisa and about their blog:

1.       When and how did you decide to become a book blogger? When, well that took us forever, I (Jammie) wasn’t the biggest fan of doing this but Lisa finally talked me into it. And I have to say that I am really glad that she did. I love it!

2.       What’s the hardest part of being a book blogger? Keeping up with everything, has to be the hardest part. And then there is the fact that no matter how fast you read, its still not  fast enough.

3.       What are your hobbies that you do when you’re not blogging? Kids, Reading , Music  & oh wait More Kids!

4.       What are your favorite types of posts to do and/or read? Anything giveaway related is always fun! And we have to say we love cover reveals! Its always so exciting to put something totally new out there!

5.       What are your favorite genres to read? Ok, the easiest way to answer this questions is to ask us what we don’t’ read. And that’s just flat out horror. We try not to scare the crap out of ourselves and since we are  both pretty easy to scare we try and stay away from that. I (Jammie) don’t mind suspense but we don’t do Horror! We both like Romance anything! (Well most anything)

6.       How did you come up with your blog name? Hours & Hours of thinking and searching around. We wanted something that was catchy, but yet was still who we were. And there then was the whole aspect of finding something no one else had. Everything we came up with we found somewhere online. And then finally it just all came together and 2 Bookaholics became 2Bookaholics.COM!

7.       What about your blog design? What inspired it? The design I can say was inspired by anything in particular we just went with something that we liked. But the Heart & The Star that we sign before our name and you see everywhere is what we are. They are the 2 things that have the most significance. They both separately represent something special to us and then together they represent us as a whole. And then after that it would have to be the banners with all the names of the couples and books.

8.       As an avid reader, what do you look for in a book? For us its always the story, We can read through the bad editing and all of that. But ultimately it’s the heart of the story that keeps us in it! Whether is grit, love or flat out anguish it’s the journey that the characters go on that draws us in. Some where deep inside both of us those characters story comes alive, and I’m pretty sure we somehow keep a little piece of them with us.

9.       What are your biggest turn-offs about a book? Pettiness, we can take drama but don’t make it petty!

10.   Who are your three favorite authors? 3 really, that’s all we get! I could give you list upon list of favorites. We love reading Tara Sivec for so many reasons, I have never read another author as funny as her, Molly McAdams always keeps us on our toes, and Colleen Hoover makes us both Ugly Cry for hours. We could both go on and on. But those are the ones we agree upon together.

I (Jammie)  would have to say R.D Cole, were to start with her, hmm she writes stories that you can’t predict. No matter how hard you try you can’t see the turn that is coming. Her books have the ability to leave you beaten but not broken. I think those were my exact words for Learning to Live. She has an amazing ability to write beautifully tragic stories and make them work.. Jen Frederick, well I fell in love with her first book (I admittedly do that a lot) but then I read her 2nd on and it held me even tighter, She writes about real topics that I love! And then her 3rd and it blew me away and it was so totally different but still brilliant. Now I’m sitting her waiting for #4 and I cant’ stand it. CM Hutton has a way to her books, she’s almost so honest in the stories she creates you can’t see the lines blur from fiction to reality. The next thing you know you are there on the page living and breathing the story.

My (Lisa) 3 favorite authors, hmm this is so hard, Lisa T. Bergren because she writes powerfully and uninhibited about faith! Jessica Park because she is awesome and her books make me think. she doesn’t do pretty romance and her characters don’t play games its raw and messy and I love it!Cassandra Claire because she can create a whole other world I want to live in. I read because I want to lose myself in the story. What better way then with a world that lives in our shadows.

11.   Which author (dead or alive) would you most like to meet? We would have to say Tara Sivec, she cracks us up every freakin time! (Hurry up September!!)

12.   How big is your TBR list? How do you go about tackling it? Umm, well where to even begin with our TBR list, we both read all the time, during the week we try and devote our reading time to blog related reading but on weekend it’s a free for all, that’s when we try and fit in our personal reading. Which by the way we are both way behind on.

13.   What are your top 3 books from 2013?  Again what’s with this top 3

Infinite Possibilities by Lisa Renee Jones
Carter Reed — Crow’s Rows (It was a tie!!) by Tijan — Julie Hockley
Sometimes It Lasts by Abbi Glines
