Author Groupies Steps Into the Book Blogger Spotlight!

Today I chatted with Nicole & Rebecca from Author Groupies and I am so excited to have them here in the Book Blogger Spotlight!!! Get to know Nicole & Rebecca and about their blog:

1.       When and how did you decide to become a book blogger?

Nicole: Rebecca and I had talked about it and kept putting it off until finally one day we were like let’s just do it. We love reading and discovering new authors and helping them get their books out there.

Rebecca: My book buddy, Nicole, and I kept talking about it and decided to do together

2.       What’s the hardest part of being a book blogger?

Nicole: Keeping up with everything. It takes a lot of time and dedication. Sometimes it’s overwhelming. But we have added a few new reviewers to help.

Rebecca: Making sure your reviews are helpful but true and finding time to read your own tbr list

3.       What are your hobbies that you do when you’re not blogging?

Nicole: I have a 3 year old who takes up most of my time, but Rebecca and I bowl together in a league every Thursday night.

Rebecca: Reading..duh! . I am also on a bowling team.

4.       What are your favorite types of posts to do and/or read?

Nicole: I love to do Cover Reveals. It’s fun to get to see the covers first. I love to read Teaser Posts and try to figure out who the post is about and what is going on in the story.

Rebecca: Funny ones or hot pics!

5.       What are your favorite genres to read?

Nicole: I love romance, NA, erotica, and some YA

Rebecca: Contemporary, erotica, paranormal romance, some YA

6.       How did you come up with your blog name?

Nicole and Rebecca: We actually bought Author Groupies shirts for a book signing when we were there authors kept asking if we were a book blog and that it would make a great name for one. So when we decide to finally start a blog and saw no one was using that name we thought it was perfect, because we definitely are Author Groupies.

7.       What about your blog design? What inspired it?

Nicole: I did the design for the blog, and I’m a fan of the colors black, white, and pink so that’s how our basic design came about. I also looked at other blogs that I follow to help decide what to include and not include in the design. I also constantly was messaging Rebecca to go and preview my changes and give approval or suggestions.

8.       As an avid reader, what do you look for in a book?

Nicole: I definitely judge a book by its cove (I know I shouldn’t), but if the cover doesn’t catch my attention I probably won’t look at the synopsis. When reading I want the story to capture my attention right from the beginning and hold it through the book.

Rebecca: A connection between the characters and the ability to draw in the reader

9.       What are your biggest turn-offs about a book?

Nicole: Cheating and huge Cliff-Hangers.

Rebecca: Grammatical errors and love triangles (tridickathons)!

10.   Who are your three favorite authors?

Nicole: Colleen Hoover, Olivia Cunning, Abbi Glines

Rebecca: Karen Marie Moning, Madeline Sheehan, Sherrilyn Kenyon

11.   Which author (dead or alive) would you most like to meet?

Nicole: Harper Lee

Rebecca: Edgar Allen Poe

12.   How big is your TBR list? How do you go about tackling it?

Nicole: Well over 200 books, and I have no idea how I will ever tackle it. I have some that are must reads and I fit in when I can.

Rebecca: Mine is HUGE! Over 200 and it makes me stressed out that I have that Many good books and I can’t just dive in!!

13.   What are your top 3 books from 2013?
