A Wanted Woman by Eric Jerome Dickey

The twenty-first novel from New York Times bestselling author Eric Jerome Dickey, a steamy thriller set in tropical Barbados

She is a woman of a thousand faces, an assassin who could be anyone, anywhere.

The Trinidad contract was supposed to be simple: to make a living man become a dead man. When the job goes bad under the watchful eye of a bank security camera, there is nowhere for agent MX-401, known as Reaper, to hide from the fearsome local warlords, the Laventille Killers.

Her employers, the Barbarians, send her to Barbados, the next island over, barely two hundred miles away, with the LK’s in hot pursuit of the woman who took many of their own. With the scant protection of a dank safe house, no passport, and no access to funds, an island paradise becomes her prison.

While she trawls for low-profile assignments to keep her skills sharp and a few dollars in her pocket, Reaper discovers that family ties run deep, on both sides of the fight. Will the woman everyone wants, who has lived countless lives in the service of others, finally discover who she really is?

In A Wanted Woman, New York Times bestselling author Eric Jerome Dickey delivers an adrenaline-pumping rush of a read.

If you are looking for nonstop action with a roller coaster ride that will leave you speechless then A Wanted Woman by Eric Jerome Dickey is the book for you! The setting is Barbados which already makes for a sexy backdrop and then you add an unlikely assassin and the impeccable writing skills of EJD and that equaled myself up all hours of the night reading. There were so many twists and turns that each page left me wondering what would possibly happen next.

Eric Jerome Dickey has been my favorite author for quite some time now, and I am still in awe of his writing skills. A Wanted Woman reads as if it should be on the big screen and assassin MX-401 is worthy of action hero status just as other strong female characters like Evelyn Salt and Cataleya Restrepo. Whether writing erotica or action, EJD has a way of capturing the female spirit and nuances better than most and that is why he continues to be at the top of my list of authors that NEVER disappoint!!!

*** This book contains explicit sex and graphic language. It is not recommended for anyone under the age of 18.***
Dade Rodrigue is the levelheaded, bass guitarist for Bayou Stix, the hottest rock band in the country. He’s the oldest member which often places him in the role of protector and mentor. Women love a rock star and Dade is no exception. When events in his own life become overwhelming, he takes a much needed retreat for some quiet and down time away from his “Dade the rocker” existence.
Melonie Bird is a well-respected OB/GYN with a successful practice. She’s beautiful, smart, and career focused. She likes things neat and orderly and her life is no exception. When her perfect life derails, she takes off on an island adventure to refresh and recharge.

An exotic location, a chance encounter, and two beautiful people -who aren’t quite who they seem- will have both of their worlds spinning.

What happens when the unexpected changes your life? When the things you never thought you wanted turn out to be exactly what you need, what do you do? What happens when the one you can’t forget isn’t exactly who you thought they were?

Can a spark of lust ignite the fire of love?

Laughing at him, I reply, “Now Dom, you know I can’t. I’m far too old for you. That is an extremely flattering offer though.”
“You are not too old for me, Ms. Mel. You are beautiful and it could be just as friends. Though, if you want to change your mind at any time, I would not complain for one minute.”
I can’t help it, I laugh. He’s so adorable and delightful. He laughs with me, showing me his nice white teeth.
As we converse a bit more, I feel someone’s eyes on me. I’m not alarmed, though my skin feels electrified. Looking around the pool, I don’t see anyone looking in my direction. Then… I see him. He’s standing near the entrance to the hotel and looks as if he’s just arrived.
Dear God. That is the most gorgeous man I’ve ever seen in my life! My eyes travel his body, from his head to his feet. I blink. Have I been in the sun too long?!
Jesus, Mel. Get a grip. But, dear God, is he real?! He’s so tall. And look at those arms. That is a lot of tattoos. He’s sexy as sin. Is his face chiseled from stone? That cannot be his face. Who looks like that?!
OMG… is he looking at me?! He just caught me staring at him. Wait, no he didn’t. I have on glasses. He doesn’t know where I’m looking…
The mirage near the hotel pulls his sunglasses down and looks right at me.Shit! Busted staring! My breath catches. He’s so not my type. I’ve always been attracted to the professional, put together type. His long, dark hair, tattoos, and bad boy vibe are so not what I’m normally into. I can’t look away. He’s screaming sex and my body is responding. He winks at me and smiles. My stomach drops and I tingle as I gasp. Did that just happen?! Pushing his glasses back up his nose, he smiles again, the sun gleaming off of his teeth, before he turns and follows the driver into the hotel.
I can’t breathe. Pressing a hand to my stomach, I slump back on the chaise and take a deep breath. Dear, God. Who is that man?!

There are times when a long, drawn out review should be written and others when I prefer to get straight to the point and leave it short and simple. And, this is one of those times when a long review isn’t needed. Alluring Infatuation is the BEST book written by Skye Turner to date!!!

Melonie and Dade, oh my!! What a love story they have. We meet the two of them while they are on vacation and of course, she has no idea that he is a mega star. Everything seems to be going well, until one of them has to unexpectedly leave the island and go back to reality. Through pure coincidence, their paths cross again and it is explosive (and I don’t mean that in a good way) and realistic!!  Once the surprise, shock, and anger  wear off the real fireworks begin between the two!

The build up of the relationship between Dade and Melonie is quite realistic. They are two fictional characters that are used to holding back because they are afraid of letting their guard down and getting hurt. Dade serves as a reminder that no matter if you are a celebrity or a regular person, the one thing we are looking for is someone who is interested in more than our exterior and take the time to see what is on the inside.

I love how Skye ties in the characters from the previous books into this one and we get a sense that Bayou Stix is more than a band. They are a family. With this being said, Skye gives us a glimpe into the next storyline which will feature my favorite band member, Cruz!!!!

I’ve read every book from Alluring Turmoil to this newest release by Skye and it is so nice to see her progression as a writer. It has gotten much cleaner, crisp, and her descriptive skills have soared. She has demonstrated the ability to write drama, humor, romance, and some steamy sex scenes all flawlessly! If you don’t believe me, just wait until you get to the Hummer scene in Alluring Infatuation!!!

The Other Side of the Pillow by Zane Review

The Other Side of the Pillow by Zane

The Other Side of the Pillow by Zane

The New York Times bestselling Queen of Erotica, Zane is back with a new novel about a testy love affair that emerges between a woman who’s had enough and a man who’s had it all.

Jemistry Daniels is a bitter woman and not trying to hide it. Even though she is beautiful, intelligent, and makes six figures a year as a high school principal in Washington, DC, one man after another has failed her. So she decides to give up and join the party by adapting the entire “friends with benefits” mentality with a couple of men that she beds on the regular but refuses to hold any kind of real conversation with, in fear that she might actually catch feelings.

Everything is going according to plan until she meets Dr. Tevin Harris, a prominent vascular surgeon, one night at a poetry slam. Tevin listens to her deliver her male-bashing poem and instead of steering away from her like most men with any common sense would do, he asks her out. Tevin has been casually dating for years, ever since his failed marriage to Estella. They had suffered several miscarriages and the emotional pain had become too much for either one of them to bear and still wake up with each other every morning.

Opening up, gaining trust, tearing down barriers, and ultimately, having the audacity to love again is not easy for either Jemistry or Tevin. It takes a lot of transparency, emotional honesty, and patience to even begin to build a life together by helping each other rebuild what has been broken. The Other Side of the Pillow examines, explores, and exposes what it means to truly fall in love. It proves that true love stories do not have a happy ending. True love stories never end at all.

To say I was excited when I heard Zane was writing a new book would be a huge understatement. To me, despite what popular culture will lead you to believe, she is the one and only queen of erotica. In my opinion, The Other Side of the Pillow was quite different from her previous books and I still LOVED it!

“In truth, I disgusted myself because he was right. I had relinquished all my common sense and self-respect in the name of love. I used to scoff at women who stayed with men who cheated on them, or hit them. Yet, there I was with one who took pride in doing both.”

Ohhhh, don’t we all know a Jemistry? Or heck, we could be the one that is a Jemistry? Jemistry is a woman in a relationship with a man that she knows is no good for her, but yet she stays. Well, she stays until one day she realizes that she deserves more and walks away. Jemistry is definitely a believable character. She is flawed, broken, bitter, and has dealt with enough heartbreak and disappointment to last a lifetime.

Enter Dr. Tevin Harris!!

“I realize that we just met but I want to be “the example” of what a man should be instead of “another example” of what a man should never be.”

Did you catch that ladies??? Dr. Harris is swoon-worthy and everything else. But, he too is flawed and is carrying some baggage with him. The love story between him and Jemistry is one of push and pull. It is one of complexities and it develops over time as each of them learn to not only put down their walls but to be patient and wait for the other person to allow them in.

The Other Side of the Pillow came along right when I needed it in my life. It will serve as a constant reminder that nothing is gained by having a cold heart. Jemistry’s story reminds us that even though we had one that broke us down, there is someone that will help build us back up and become the true love of our lives. And, as mentioned before this is a step out of the norm for Zane as it isn’t erotica, but to me it is one of her best books to date. This is how you write a book about grown ups for grown ups!!

Ohhhhhh, and the note at the end from Zane is EVERYTHING!!!
