Pearl by Arianne Richmonde

The book that Pearl Series fans have been asking for: the flip side of the tale. The story according to Alexandre Chevalier.

At only twenty-five, Alexandre Chevalier is a billionaire. His social media site, HookedUp, is more popular than Twitter, more global than Facebook. With his drop-dead gorgeous looks, alluring charm and wealth, he has women falling at his feet, desperate for his attention.
But his heart is set on only one woman: Pearl Robinson.
Alexandre’s dark and dysfunctional past makes him crave stability and a normal relationship, but he soon finds out that Pearl is a bird with a broken wing. Why, he isn’t sure.

Pearl, follows Arianne Richmonde’s bestselling books in The Pearl Trilogy: Shades of Pearl, Shadows of Pearl and Shimmers of Pearl; the tumultuous and heart-rending love story between forty-year-old documentary producer, Pearl Robinson, and French Internet billionaire, Alexandre Chevalier, fifteen years her junior.

Pearl is written from Alexandre’s point of view from the moment they first meet on a rainy summer’s day in a coffee shop in New York City.

In any relationship details are hidden; things are left unsaid.
Not all conversations are remembered in the same way.
And not all actions are disclosed—especially to the one you love most.

This book (Part 1 of 2) is approximately 53,000 words long, just over 200 printed pages.   Part 2 is scheduled for release in October.

Because of Alexandre Chevalier’s prowess in the bedroom, this novel contains erotic content and strong language.
Intended for readers aged 18 and over.

I am seriously a sucker for a book written from the male’s POV, so I was immediately drawn to Pearl by Arianne Richmonde. And, boy, this book did not disappoint!! Alexandre is yummy, yummy, yummy, plus he’s French!!!

“An orgasm isn’t just physical. It’s all about your mental state of mind. The biggest sex organ of all is your brain. Think of the Big O as an orchestra that needs a conductor. I want to be that conductor, to conduct sweet, mind-blowing music that climaxes…right-“I trailed my finger down her stomach over her mound of Venus and tapped her gently between her legs-“here,” I said.

Ummmm, HELLO!!!! If you are interested in erotica that has simple structure and horrible grammar then a more well-known book series might be for you. But, if you are looking for a book that will truly tell you a story that goes beyond the bedroom then Pearl is the book is for you! I am anxiously waiting for the next book in the series.

DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of Pearl in exchange for my honest review.

Arianne Richmonde is an American writer and artist who was raised in both the US and Europe. She is the author of Forty Shades of Pearl, Shadows of Pearl and Shimmers of Pearl, all full-length novels in The Pearl Trilogy. She has also written Glass- an erotic short story. She lives with her husband in France.

If Pearl were made into a movie, who would you have as your dream cast?

Very hard to say for Alexandre. I really like that French actor, Gaspard Ulliel  but he’s not quite tall or muscley enough for Alexandre. I think a young version of Oliver Martinez–when he was in Unfaithful. Truthfully, Alexandre is so incredible in my imagination, I don’t know who could do him justice. For Pearl I think Charlize Theron would be perfect. Cameron Diaz would also be good.

Set the mood for us…when you’re writing, you have to…

I like to be warm. I love summer! I take my laptop around the house, outside…the kitchen (where I am now)..wherever. I need natural light, silence and my dogs and cats by my side. A cup of tea or coffee, a glass of wine…my husband bringing me dinner!

What has been the most surprising and upsetting part of your literary journey?

Upsetting when snotty literary agents and publishers have either ignored me (when I was writing query letters and trying for a trad deal) or sitting so high on their ‘literary’ horses that I felt completely exasperated. Surprising is when I sold that first e-book online and a 5 star review came in on Amazon and I realized that people actually loved my work and wanted more.

When you’re not writing, what authors do you enjoy reading? What are you currently reading?

I had a craze on Gillian Flynn recently (Gone Girl). I like literary fiction, I love the classics like Jane Austen and Graham Greene. I just finished reading my friend Nell L’Amour’s book, Gloria’s Secret, an erotic romance about to be released.

If you had to write your life story, what would the title be? How does that title portray your story?

‘The Adventures of Arianne.’ My life has been a series of adventures. Right now, I feel as if I am on a literary adventure. I like to jump into the deep end and see what happens. I’ve lived in many countries, I speak three languages, have traveled all over the world, so I really have lived life to the full. Writing books for a big audience is another roller coaster ride and I’m having a great time.

What are three things readers might be surprised to learn about you?

I have a British accent. I used to be an actress. I had an affair with a legendary rock star.

Why do you think what you do matters?

The arts are so much more important than people imagine. People rate doctors for saving lives but we artists are also saving lives on a day-to-day basis. Actors, writers, painters…can you imagine coming home from work with no TV to watch, no books to read, nothing to feed your soul? I love the fact that I am providing an escape for readers, helping them get in touch with their emotions. I love entertaining people.

What can your fans look forward to next?

Well, I have PEARL, parts 1 and 2 and then a suspense novel called STOLEN GRACE which I am editing now.

Thank you again for allowing me to interview you on Tiffany Talks Books. Are there any last words for those who are reading this interview?

A massive THANK YOU for reading my books. For welcoming me into your world. You have made my success as an author possible and I feel very blessed and lucky.
